Over these two years, I have had the most profound thoughts about the impact of the advanced technologies of Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain on the future of work (careers), society, the environment, the political landscape, and the next generation.
Many of my thoughts are shaped by the unimaginable progress AI in a short period & by great thinkers like:
I was a little worried about what to teach my 7yrs old to prepare for the future; I decided to make him an entrepreneur and expose him to all the latest technologies so he could express his creativity. This is akin to a carpenter with a tool belt of various tools; knowing and using those tools makes the carpenter more effective at his job. Thus The Why Kid is born.
AI will create an inequitable society that humanity has never seen before. Those that have the data and algorithms are going to rule the world. We will have 164 kings (0.0001% rich) problem, i.e., so many fought and died to go from many kingdoms to democracy. We may slide into the kingdom of the 164 wealthiest kings. This greater inequity will put democracy (individual freedom) under threat.
As Harvard Prof. Michel J. Sandel put it, "Democracy has a fundamental requirement - class mixing." I intend to enable class mixing by reducing inequity and enabling the constructive debate to achieve virtue through reasoning (Politics by Aristotle).
Hence, The Why Institute is born to preserve individual freedom through preserving democracy (i.e., Polity by Aristotle) by reducing inequity and preserving planet Earth for us to live on.
To achieve these goals, it is essential to educate great leaders on these technologies, prepare them for the future and enable them to shape society through the multiplier effect. Hence, I am launching a new course, "ECLIPSE."
